Strengthening Civic Engagement through Information

Events

The GuideStar International Assembly: Transparency, Civil Society and Effective States in the Age of Information took place on the 19th – 20th September 2007, at Two Temple Place in London. There were over 90 delegates from 20 countries in attendance.

During the second Assembly we discussed the importance of robust and vibrant civil societies for positive development outcomes and good governance, examined the risks facing civil society and discussed what is needed to further enable CSOs and ensure their effectiveness. We also heard from GSI’s Country Partners who presented on the progress they have made in establishing GuideStar systems in their countries.

We would like to thank everyone who participated and helped make this event a success.
